I believe my Grandfather was in the Royal Air Force Regiment, judging by the rank of Lance Corporal. He may have had a role in a Light Anti Aircraft Squadron. Maybe Sqdn 27xx formed about 1943. Family history goes that he was posted to France or Belgium, borne out by him receiving the France and Germany Star medal. He joined up at the start of the war at County Durham, North East England. I believe he reached the rank of Sergeant.
