"1st Lieutenant van ROOSTEREN, as Chief of the Dutch Counterintelligence Liaison Mission with the Counterintelligence Branch, G-2 Section, Headquarters, 12th Army Group, organized and directed the efforts of the Dutch security personnel assigned for liaison duties with Headquarters, 12th Army Group and of the Armies under command in a highly efficient manner. As a result of this devotion to duty and initiative, 1st Lieutenant van ROOSTEREN insured the extremely close and effective coordination of the security operations of his Mission's personnel with the American counterintelligence agencies, thereby aiding to a marked degree in the accomplishment of the Allied counterintelligence mission of destroying the German Intelligence Services and eradicating the Nazi Party.
One of 1st Lieutenant van ROOSTEREN's most notable contributions to the success of the American counterintelligence operations in Germany was his assistance in planning and supervising the security checking and control of thousands of prisoners of war and displaced persons of Dutch nationality in order to screen out and arrest individuals of counterintelligence interest to the Dutch and US security authorities."
