Biography

On June 1, 1940, he was accepted as a student at the military school in Gombong, Central Java. After six months of basic training, he graduated and received the rank of corporal. He joined the Royal Dutch East Indies Army and was sent to Bandung in World War II. After his appointment as a sergeant in the KNIL, he later became a platoon commander, company commander, regimental commander and battalion commander with the rank of lieutenant colonel.

During World War II in October 1943, she joined PETA as a volunteer.
After the end of the world he became the commander of the brigade Garuda Mataram.

In 1968 he was appointed President of Indonesia.
