"During the advance from FALAISE to R SEINE the work of this officer's regiment was marked by its energetic and determined fighting reconnaissance. At no time was contact with the retiring enemy lost. The effective reconnaissance on the part of the regiment can be attributed to the personal example of this officer. His HQ was always well forward with the leading elements of his troops encouraging them to get forward to maintain contact and to obtain information essential for the development of this division. By such determined emp of his regiment this officer was largely responsible for the quick advance made to the R. SEINE by this division."

This officer has most ably coordinated all arms under his command so that the maximum destruction has been occasioned to the enemy, and the least damage and destruction to the Netherlands population and property. Brigadier Roberts has played an outstanding part in the liberation of Holland."
