1 Special Air Service Regiment, (SAS), British Army
Citation:
"Lt. Jordan has been in command of the fighting French Detachment of 1 S.A.S. Regiment since the capture of Major Berget in Crete during June 1941. Raids which he has lead on various targets in enemy occupied territory have resulted in the destruction of much enemy transport and 28 enemy aircraft. He has taken a subordinate part in other raiding operations, on which occasions the French Detachment has always compared in all ways most favourably with the troops of S.A.S. Regiment.
In June 1942 he destroyed 11 aircraft on L.G. 16 in spite of very heavy enemy opposition. Each aircraft had a guard surrounding it. Jordan and his 4 men had to eliminate this guard before placing charges in the aircraft."
