Dutch War Graves General Cemetery Zoelen

On the General Cemetery in Zoelen are four Dutch War Graves of Resistance Fighters.
These are the graves of:

- Johannes Jabobus Daalderop
- Izak Dasberg
- Cristinus Weijman
- Matthijs van Ommeren

Jan Daalderop from Tiel was a manufacturer and a member of the Dutch resistance, Together with four other men he was arrested on December 23th 1944 and executed the next day.

Izak Dasberg was a Jewish man from Haarlem, in 1939 he moved to Tiel. He was never deported to a concentrationcamp because he was married to a christian woman. Izak was also arrested on December 23th 1944 and executed the next day.

Christinus Weijman was shop owner and a member of the Dutch resistance. Christinus was also arrested on December 23th 1944 and executed the next day.

Matthijs (Thijs) van Ommeren helped many during World War II in hiding with false papers and ration cards. He also helped the Allies in various operations during one of those relief efforts, he was arrested by the Germans. He was transferred to a prison and was executed on November 14, 1944 in Renswoude. Thijs is commemorated on the Resistance Cross Memorial in Renswoude and on the War Memorial on the Cemetery in Zoelen.

There are also two Dutch war graves of soldiers:

- Jacobus Haken
- Johannes Arie van Nieuwenhuijzen

Jacobus Haken was a Dutch soldier from Mijdrecht, he died on May 11th 1940 during the German invasion.

Johannes Arie van Nieuwenhuijzen was a Dutch soldier from Wissekerke, he also died on May 11th 1940 during the German invasion.. He was in the same regime as Haken.
