Children Remembrance Memorial Camp Vught

At the end of the ground of the National Memorial Camp Vught this Memorial is erected. It commemorates the deportation of 1269 Jewish children to extermination camps in June 1943.
The Memorial consists of four colums containing the names of the 1269 children and their ages. On top of the columns are four gold David stars.
The memorial was designed by Teus van den Berg-Been and revealed on September 5th 1999.

On the marble stone left of the Memorial is the following text:

Meer dan 1800 Joodse kinderen werden van hier
op transport gesteld, naar vernietigingskampen.
Slechts enkele overleefden

In English this is:
More than 1,800 Jewish children were put from here
on transport, to the extermination camps.
Only a few survived
Here are the names of 1269 of these children
They were deported with the children's transport on June 6 and 7th 1943
and killed
In them we remember all the children who were deported from camp Vught
never to return

may their souls be bundled in the bundle of eternal life.

On the plate at the bottem of the monument is this text:
Het kind is er niet...... en ik, waar moet ik heen!

In English this is:
The child is not here...... and I, where do I have to go!
