Majuba Commemorative Camping and Museum

This museum and campsite is located at Majuba Hill. The site is also used as a festival site for the commemoration of the Battle of Majuba.
The Battle of Majuba, on Majuba Hill, was the decisive battle of the First Boer War, which took place on 27 February 1881. The victory of the Boers marked the end of the war. At the battle, 92 British soldiers were killed, 134 were wounded and 59 were captured. On the Boer side, only one was killed (H. Bekker) and 7 were wounded, one of whom later (J. Groenewald) died from his wounds.
