Monument Charles de Gaulle Saint-Vigor-le-Grand

Translated into English:

On 14 June 1944, General de Gaulle returned to France to restore the authority of the Republic. He crossed Saint-Vigor-le-Grand and arrived in Bayeux where he received a triumphant welcome.

He gave a patriotic speech on the Place du Château, now the Place de Gaulle. A jubilant crowd paid tribute to him for his devotion to France, and the speech ended with the Marseillaise.

In front of this monument, let us remain faithful to this memory.
