Memorial and Information Sign Huize Voorburg

The house across the road was owned by the Jewish firm of Kahn and Co. from 1936. In March 1941, the house was taken into use as a so-called Hachshara home, a house where Jewish young people (Palestine pioneers) were prepared for their stay in Palestine. On October 3, 1942, Huize Voorburg is surrounded by the SS and at that time 38 residents are deported to camp Westerbork. In the end, 12 of them did not survive the war.
