This memorial to the crew of Short Stirling EF298 V8-T is located on the Quadenoord estate. Their aircraft was hit by FLAK on September 23, 1944, during a resupply flight for the Airborne division. All crew members and air despatchers were killed in the crash in the vicinity of the memorial. The memorial is an initiative of Paul Brooker, nephew of flight engineer Richard Bond.
