Office of the Deputy of the Führer

This 1893 building, originally located at Wilhelmstrasse 64, housed the Cabinet of the Prussian King and German Emperor from 1900 to 1918. At the time of the Weimar Republic, it was used as the office of the Prussian State Ministry from 1922 to 1932 and as the official residence of Konrad Adenauer as president of the Prussian State Council from 1932 to 1933. During the time of Nazi Germany, the office of the Führer's deputy Rudolf Hess was located at this address. The Büro Ribbentrop led by Joachim Ribbentrop and the NSDAP liaison staff, which arranged relations between government and party, were also located here. In 1941, Martin Bormann succeeded Rudolf Hess at this location. At the time of the GDR, the building was again used for government purposes. Today it houses the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
