This is a marker of the Perimeter Route. On this route you walk in the footsteps of the Allies who tried to liberate this region in September 1944. Follow the route and discover not only impressive locations and historical events, but also personal stories from civilians and soldiers who were present at these places during the Battle of Arnhem.
The Perimeter was a horseshoe-shaped defense line in Oosterbeek into which the British and Polish troops had retreated during the Battle of Arnhem. In this area the Allies held out for nine days under continuous German attacks.
The route book of the Perimeter Walk is for sale at Airborne Museum 'Hartenstein'
