Perimeter Route Marker 3: Oosterbeek-Hoog station

This is a marker of the Perimeter Route. On this route you walk in the footsteps of the Allies who tried to liberate this region in September 1944. Follow the route and discover not only impressive locations and historical events, but also personal stories from civilians and soldiers who were present at these places during the Battle of Arnhem.

The northernmost part of the perimeter was located at Oosterbeek station. The troops north of the track were unable to defend their positions and retreated. The railway crossing remained perilous.
