This memorial commemorates the Roma and Sinti who perished in concentration camp Mauthausen. It was designed by Austrian sculptor Josef Pillhofer and his son Markus.
Shortly before the end of the war, on 9 March 1945, a transport with 450 Roma and Sinti women and their children arrived at the camp. The children were murdered immediately upon arrival.
