Plaque former Israeli hospital

A plaque is attached to the gate with the following text:

'GATE OF THE
FORMER
JEWISH
HOSPITAL

THROUGH THIS GATE, ON
FEBRUARY 26, 1943 SICK, ELDERLY AND
NURSES FROM THE FORMER
JEWISH HOSPITAL FOR ISRAELI
OLD AND SICK PEOPLE IN ROTTERDAM
WERE DRIVED OUT BY THE GERMAN
OCCUPANTS. TOGETHER WITH THE CHILDREN
AND CARAGIVERS FROM THE ISRAELI
ORPHANAGE AT MATHENESSERLAAN 208,
THEY WERE TAKEN VIA WESTERBORK TO
SOBIBOR.
OF THE 200 SICK, ELDERLY AND
CHILDREN AND 61 STAFF
ALMOST NONE HAS RETURNED.'
