Office Germanic SS Propaganda Department

From 1938 onwards, “das Deutsche Haus” of the so-called colony was located at Stadhouderskade 40 in Amsterdam. In Germany, in the 1930s, all German associations were as equal as possible and made members of the colony. Walter Paustian was the leader of the Germans in the Netherlands even before the war.

There were all kinds of pleasant evenings and gatherings in the Deutsche Haus; from stamp collectors to the Hitler Youth. This was also the editorial address of the Hamer publishing house and the Propaganda department of the Germanic SS in the Netherlands was located here.

In 1942 there were also inspections of the Waffen SS.
