The college of the Josephite Fathers was already known before the First World War for the stunning collections in its museums.
On the attic floor there was a natural history museum with, among other things, mummified animals, shells …
On the floor below there was an ethnographic museum with numerous curiosities, an industrial museum with tools and machines and a trade museum with basic vegetable and animal products.
During the First World War, German soldiers caused a lot of damage to the demonstration rooms, laboratories and museums. Much of the collections from that time has been preserved, but is now disordered and often in questionable condition.
In the ethnographic museum, some objects relate to history and wars.
There is a photo of Adolf Hitler who was there in 1940.
Field Marshal General Montgomery visited the college during its liberation and signed the guestbook.
The museum can be visited by appointment.
