Former Prison Wolvenplein

This former prison was built in 1856. From 1942 to 1945 the prison was used by the Germans to intern political prisoners and after the war collaborators were interned here.

Like other pre-war prisons the prison was seen as inefficient and was ultimately closed in 2014. Plans for repurposing are expected to be implemented in 2026/27.
