Lascaris War Rooms

Only five minutes walk from the center of Valletta, this unique attraction is one of four remaining World War II Military Operations Rooms open for pubic in the world today - the other one in Gibraltar is still being used in top secrecy.

Today, visitors can relive, on-site, the second Great Siege of Malta and see the actual rooms where allied commanders such as Eisenhower, Montgomery, Park and others conducted operations that led to the first invasion of Axis occupied Europe.

Groups are guided by an expert (in suitable outfit!) with an in-depth knowledge of the War Rooms and history of the time. The guided tour is conducted in English but is also available on audio tapes in French, German, Italian and English, for those who decide to take their own pace in touring the attraction.

For current visiting hours, please contact the museum.
