Around this church various British units fought until the end of the battle in order to make an eventual crossing of the Rhine possible.

Rond deze kerk hebben verschillende Britse eenheden tot het eind van de slag gestreden om de verbinding met de Rijn open te houden teneinde een overtocht mogelijk te maken.
