Memorial Lancaster lll ED997 Bomber Oeffelt

Next to the mill a Memorial is situated to commemorate the crew members of a crashed Lancaster III ED997 Bomber of the 83 Squadron.

Text on the Memorial:
On the 22nd of June 1943 a Lancaster from the Royal Airforce crashed in Oeffelt. The 7 crew members died due to explosion of the airplane.
