In the Verzets Museum Friesland you will be tangled with the dilemmas of the Second World War. The Museums central theme is "choosing, then and now".
Apart from that, a chronological survey is at display, running from the days of The Great War up to the present time.
Unique is the 'Open Depot', where the visitor is free to have a look at the Museums treasures and some of them even can be tried out!
The Museum is also a place of remembrance and reflection. You will find the names of all 290 persons who lost their lives in the Frisian resistance and the names of more than 600 Jewish citizens who were expelled from Friesland and were murdered.
The Museums Educational Service uses the collection as a means to narrate a story, not to be forgotten, to younger generations.
Various educational processing possibilities are available for primary and secondary education.
In the Fries Verzetsmuseum hangs a painting by Sipke Jansma made in 1995.
The image and title refer to the execution of eleven people on 11 April 1945 near the bridge at Dronrijp.
