Memorial Stones Arc de Triomphe

These memorial stones, near the grave of the Unknown Soldier at the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile, commemorate:

- The demonstration of students against the Germans on 11 November 1940.
- The French who were killed in the army or in the resistance in World War II.
- The proclamation of the French Third Republic, on 4 september 1870. This happened after the downfall of the Second French Empire because Emperor Napoleon III surrendered to Bismarck on 2 September 1870 after being defeated in the Battle of Sedan.
- The French servicemen who served their country in the war in Indochina (1946-1954).
- The return of the regions Alsace and Lorraine from Deutschland to France, after the end of World War I on 11 november 1918.
- The famous speech on 18 June 1940 of General de Gaulle.
- The French servicemen who served their country in the Korean War.
- The French servicemen (AFN, Afrique Française du Nord) who gave their lives in the war in Algeria and the battles in Morocco and Tunisia, from 1952 to 1962.
