Dutch War Gravess Westkapelle

The memorial for the bombing casualties of Westkapelle is situated in Westkapelle General Cemetery, behind the light tower. The memorial consists of a plot with graves of the casualties in a half circle and a cross. On the back of the pedestal is the following text to read:

We are free
But it took your death (Song of songs 171:2)

In the middle of the plot is a memorial with the names of missing persons.

Text on the stone (translated):
Here lies our beloved son, brother and fiancee Jacob Brasser.
Born. March 11, 1915
Killed July 20, 1943


Collective grave of 4 Dutch mineclearers.
This is a collective grave of 4 Dutch mineclearers who were killed when a mine, which was washed ashore, exploded during the disassembly.

L.N. van der Knaap
J.F. Francois
