on 19th September 2014 in memory of

Sir James Cleminson KBE MC (1921-2010)

On 17th September 1944 Lieut. Cleminson with his platoon of 3rd Parachute BN captured the Hotel Hartenstein, then part of the main German Headquarters in Holland. His soldiers then started to eat the lunch laid out for the enemy officers, until they were ordered to continue their march to Arnhem.
