Since 15 October 2014 a plaque, in gratitude of the 1500 Belgian refugees who found shelter in Eindhoven during the First World War, hangs inside the St. Catherine's Church.
The plaque has been made in 1918, but since then it was stored in various locations and now it is for the first time shown to the public.
The church itself has also been heavily damaged by bombings during the Second World War, in 1942 and 1944.
