City Hall Rotterdam

Rotterdam was in the Second World War, 1940-1945 suffered greatly from the war. After the German invasion on 14 may 1940 following the bombing that destroyed much of the downtown area and seating for 800 people costs lives.
The Rotterdam City Hall do not get destroyed but takes damage. In the front are still bullet holes visible.
In 1943 become by the Germans stole the carillon of 48 bells, weighing 27.000 kg. The carillon will be transferred to Germany and was never recovered.
