North Field
North Field was the air base of the Twentieth Air Force and 509th Composite Group for B-29 Superfortress operations against the Japanese islands in 1944 and 1945. The 509th Composite Group was responsible for the two atomic bombs on Japan in August, 1945. North Field was abandoned after the war.
