Awarded for the following actions…

1) During the first four decisive days of the Second Battle of Kharkov Haizmann commanded the 9. Flak-Division in the absence of its commander, who had taken over the responsibilities of the commander of the I. Flak-Korps. Haizmann’s Flak-Division would play a key part in the successful battle here, being named in the Wehrmachtbericht of the 21.05.1942. Up until the 20.05.1942 the Division had destroyed a total of 107 Soviet tanks during the fighting in the area.

2) Around the 24.07.1942 Haizmann led the regrouping and transfer of the 9. Flak-Division from the 4. Panzerarmee to the 6. Armee on his own initiative, once again since the normal commander was absent. Without regard for his own safety he also went forward in his Fieseler Storch or vehicle when the situation concerning front line crises was unclear.
