Albert was born on January 30 1917 in Montreal, the son of Edwyn John and Violet Constance Wayte nee Wulff of Montreal. They were marid on August 25 1914 in Westmount Quebec. His sister was Mrs. Frances Sam T. Patterson.
He was a clerk and member of the United Church of Canada and he spoke English and French. His sport was skiing, and his hobbies were reading and interest in dramatics (more production than acting). He was vice-president for 6 months till enlistment of The Province of Quebec Fencing Association.
He served from March 26 1940 till July 14 1941 with the 2nd Bn Victoria Rifles (Militia). He enlisted on July 14 then the army in Huntingdon Quebec and he went thereafter on May 10 1944 overseas to the UK and he went on September 18 then by plane to NW Europe.
Albert died of wounds received in action on Wednesday September 20 1944 age 27, a few days later during the operation Market Garden. He was temporarily buried then near the municipality hospital in Arnhem before being reburied on August 22 1945 in Oosterbeek.
On his headstone: "NOTHING IS HERE FOR TEARS... NOTHING BUT WELL AND FAIR... IN A DEATH SO NOBLE"
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps and served as a CanLoan Officer with the King's Own Scottish Borderers (British).
