Biography

Roy was born on August 11 1921 in Bristol England, the son of Alfred Boulter and Alice Maud Mary Boulter nee Bennett (both English) of Horfield, Bristol.

He was an aeronautical engineer and member of the Church of England. He spoke English and could speak and write fair German. His sports were swimming, cricket, rugby, tennis, football, skiing, skating and running. His hobbies were aeronautics and flying.

He enlisted on November 21 1940 in Vancouver and the date is not known when he went thereafter overseas to the UK.

Roy was killed in action on Sunday September 17 1944 age 23 due to a crash near ‘t Zand, Zandsepad in Lent before or after an attack on Nijmegen. He was temporarily buried then there before being reburied on September 27 1945 in Oosterbeek. His other fallen RAF Volunteer Reserve crew member was F/O Leonard W. Rawlins age 26 in the same grave 4-C-18-19.

He served with the 21 (R.A.F.) Sqdn. Royal Canadian Air Force.
