Biography

Son of Charles Percy and Mary Alice Pewtress of Hardisty, Alberta. Diesel mechanic, volunteered for service in Calgary on 18 May 1942. Corporal with the Westminster Regiment (Motor). Killed on 17 April 1945 during fierce fighting during the liberation of Putten near Voorthuizerstraat.

He is buried at the Canadian Cemetery in Groesbeek and was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, the France & Germany Star, the War Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. His headstone bears the inscription:
'He Fought a Good Fight'.
