From November 1941, he was appointed to the Army Group South and then Kdr of the IR.420 from December 1941 to the 29.9.1942.
After wounding, he stayed at the hospital and then he was appointed to the Führerreserve.
From 30.3.1943 to 29.1.1945, he was appointed Commander of the Combat College Nisch in Bulgaria. After dissolution of the combat school in September 1944, he was commander of the Gren. Regt. "Belgrade Fortress" with about 1000 men.
From January 1945, he was combat commander of Fiume (Sušak today).
In January 1946 he was picked up from the hospital Preco in Croatia and executed and buried in Summer 1946 in Sušak-Trsat in Croatia.
