    Jansa distinguished himself during the defense of the Sereth sector along the line Galatz-Foscani. With his AA guns he also was successful in setting up blocking lines at Ramnicul and later at Buzau. These permitted the escape of jammed Axis vehicle columns through the Buzau pass. He would further prove himself during actions at Klausenburg and Debrecen. For the sum of these achievements Jansa would be awarded the Knight’s Cross.
