21 July 1944 WO 171/1322 - 6 KOSB
The Corps Comd, Lt Gen Ritchie visited the Bn and spoke to offrs and several ORs. The day was spent on further re-org, made difficult by incessant hy rain. In the afternoon the area was shelled by enemy hy guns and permission was obtained from Bde to move to 904683. This was carried out and completed by 2200 hrs.

Lt-Gen N.M. Ritchie, Cb, Dso, Comd 12 Corps visited Bn Hq. Enemy activity observed in house 369264.
1 December 1944 WO 171/1251 - 4 Coldstream Guards
The Bn was visited, and an informal inspection held, by the Supreme Commander, General Eisenhower. With him were Lt. Gen. Sir Miles Dempsey & Lt. Gen. Ritchie. The General was shown “Cuckoo" the Panther and talked to Sergeant Roberts, its Commander.
