Gilbert H. Fuller served with Headquarters, 26th infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He entered service on June 27th, 1942. On August 2nd, 1942 he left for Europe to arrive there on August 7th. He saw action in French Morocco, Algeria, Tunesia, at Sicily, in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland and in Central Europe. He returned for the United States again on August 4th, 1945 to arrive there on August 5th. He was honorably discharged on December 11th, 1945.

His quick action resulted in the saving of irreplaceable equipment."
