    Lived in Haarlem. Unmarried. Third mate merchant navy. Member resistance. Secret agent (as operator) at Special Operations Executive in the rank of temporary Infantry Sergeant. His code names were Hoek and Cucumber. On the night of October 27 to 28, 1942, he parachuted over occupied Dutch territory near Putten under the pseudonym Jan Willems and was arrested after landing. He was transported to Poland via Haaren, Vught and Germany. Bakker was killed in Rawicz. Bakker has been awarded the Bronze Cross twice. Bakker has no identifiable grave.
