Citation:
"2/Lieut. Arie VAN DUYN, of the Royal Netherlands Armed Forces, volunteered to undertake a mission in HOLLAND. He was given specal W/T training and on the night of 5th/6th July 1944 he was dropped by parachute with two officers in that country.
His mission was to act as W/T operator to two organisers and through his loyalty and bravery it has been possible to deliver to an important part of HOLLAND, vitally needed stores and arms, to pass extremely important SHAEF directives to the field and to receive important messages covering troop moevements and rocket sites.
He is still carrying out one of the most hazardous tasks in spite of fierce enemy activity."
