"T/Major (War Substantive Captain) J.R. Bussey, 104158 K.R.R.C., while serving with the British Army and working in close conjunction with the Army of the United States distinguished himself by exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service to American personnel during the period April 1942 to August 1944. As Quartering Commandant, South-West London District, he was responsible for the acquisition of all property provided by the British Military for U.S. Forces in this area. The majority of U.S. installations in London were located in this section. Major Bussey was faced with many difficult and varied problems arising from the foregoing which required a great deal of his time and considerable tact and ability to solve to the satisfaction of all concerned. His cooperation was of material aid to the U.S. Forces."
