These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine) commemorate:
Leentje Nederlof
Jacques van Gelderen
Simon van Gelderen
Sophia van Gelderen-Kleinkramer
Joseph de Raaij
Vrouwtje de Raaij-De Jong
Julie de Goede-Salomons
David de Goede
Antoinetta Rosenau-Fles
Hester Kattenburg-Fles
Martha Kattenburg-Goldstein
Rosette van Aals
all murdered and perished in German camps.
The small copper plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) resisidents are murdered, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.
In many other German cities the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
