Invasion Memorial Westkapelle

These silhouettes of approaching commandos commemorate the Allied landing on Nov. 1, 1944. This landing involved commandos from seven countries. One sculture was placed for each country. The purpose of this landing as part of Operation Infatuate II, was to drive the last German troops out of Walcheren.

At the base of the foot of dike on which the silhouettes are placed is a stone with the inscription "We Will Remember Them."
