Memorial Stones Johannes Bosboomstraat 15

These Memorial Stones were placed here for:
* SJOUKE RIJPER (executed 28-11-1944, Leusderheide, aged 60)
* KLAAS PAULUS RIJPER (executed 18-11-1944, Leusderheide, aged 22)
* FRANCISCUS GIJSBERTUS ALEXANDER RIJPER (executed 18-11-1944, Leusderheide, aged 18)
* HENDRIK VAN DIJK (executed 18-11-1944, Leusderheide, aged 18)

The Rijper family lived at this address, including father Sjouke and two sons Klaas and Frans, with a person in hiding, Hendrik van Dijk. The father was involved in illegal activities and the sons and Hendrik were in the resistance.
The four were arrested on 16 November 1944, after which the youngest were executed by firing squad two days later.
On 28 November Sjouke was told he would be released, but he was shot outside the camp.

These Memorial Stones lie here for resistance fighters, arrested and murdered in World War II.

These memorial stones are located here for victims of National Socialism (Nazism). They are often placed as an alternative to the official Stolpersteine of the Gunter Demnig project. Where there is no Stolperstein but people still want to commemorate, a slightly different memorial stone or plague is used. The memorials are in most cases laid in front of a known home address of the victims.
