The cross for the 2nd Class to the Cross of Liberty can be compared with the 1st Class but instead of its golden material its cross is gold plated.
As all grades the decoration can be military (with swords) of civilian (without swords) and for peacetime (yellow/white ribbon) or wartime (red/white ribbon) awarded. During wartime the war ribbon variation could be awarded with an oak leaf.
The medal itself consists of a white enamelled, gold plated cross, hanging on an oak leaf cluster, placed on a ribbon to be worn on the left breast. For women the ribbon was different shaped. The cross bears the Finnish swastika with a rose button in the middle.
The oak leaf cluster can either be with or without swords an the variation with oak leaf has an oak leaf placed on the ribbon.
