Two plaques in the courtyard of the detainee building of Mauthausen Concentration Camp indicate the place where the ashes are buried of 40 Dutch and seven British secret agents, mostly arrested during Englandspiel, who were murdered in the camp on 6 and 7 September 71944.
The ashes are secretly buried by other prisoners.

ON THE 6TH AND 7TH SEPTEMBER 1944
40 DUTCH AND 7 BRITISH SPECIAL AGENTS
WHO HAD BEEN DROPPED ABOVE GERMAN OCCUPIED TERRITORY
CRUELLY WERE PUT TO DEATH IN THIS CAMP BY THE NAZIS
THEIR BODIES WERE BURNED IN THE CREMATORIUM
AT THE RISK OF THEIR LIVES
YUGOSLAV AND RUSSIAN PRISONERS
BURIED THE ASHES OF THESE WAR-HEROES
AT THIS PLACE
NETHERLANDS WAR GRAVES FOUNDATION.
