Men of Mount Carmel: Remembering Those Who Died in World War II

Mount Carmel High School is an all boys, Catholic high school in Chicago's Woodlawn neighborhood. It was opened on November 9, 1924. The school lost many of its alumni to the war. Terry Stadler, a 1965 alum from MC, compiled a list of the Men of Mount Carmel who perished in the Second World War. His research is based on the following sources:

• Mount Carmel Class of 1946 Yearbook: 56 graduates + Fr. Aquinas Colgan, O.Carm.
• 1985 St. Cyril College & Mount Carmel Fact Book (by Fr. Leander Troy): 7 names not found in the 1946 Yearbook or the current Memorial Plaque.
• The Mount Carmel memorial plaque: One name not found in the Fact Book or the 1946 Yearbook.
• Mount Carmel various Yearbooks between 1929 & 1945, including the 1944 tributes.
• The Carmelite Provincial Archives, maintained by Fr. Bob Boley, O.Carm.

And a number of websites, including American Battle Monuments Commission and Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency.
